Gaurav Sinha

Bio

Gaurav is a Machine Learning enthusiast. His interest in this field flourished when he was first introduced to a course in Machine learning in his undergrad. He then took up an internship with EXL analytics where he developed a model to identify damaged part in a car's image. He also took up his Bachelor Thesis Project in the same field and developed a model to identify bird species from the image of their beak. To dive deeper into the subject he is currently pursuing a Master's degree in Data Science at the University of British Columbia.

Gaurav believes that knowledge has the power to transform life and knowledge increases with sharing. To accomplish this he writes blogs on topics in data science. He is a trained martial artist and a regular Yoga practitioner. In his free time, he likes cooking and watching movies.

Education

Gaurav earned his bachelor's degree in Electronics and Electrical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology(IIT), Guwahati. He was ranked among the top 0.4% out of half a million people who appeared for the entrance of the college.
Gaurav is currently pursuing a Master's degree in Data Science at the University of British Columbia.

Employment

Gaurav has worked for Oracle as a software engineer where he was involved in the development and maintenance of Oracle's Supply Chain Management application. The application development and maintenance was done in Java. He also developed REST api and SQL script for passing data to the client application.
